host to more than a million excited supporters, during the first six

Dutch soccer stars pitch up in Hillbrow

The Dutch national team officially opened an artificial soccer pitch in
the heart of Hillbrow on Thursday with a five-a-side match against
soccer-loving youths from the area. The Orange Cruyff Court was
described as a gift from the players to the youth of the crowded and
disadvantaged neighbourhood.

The pitch was partly funded by R1 million rands worth of match bonuses
donated by the squad. The Dutch squad includes international soccer stars like Robin van
Persie, Wesley Sneijder and Dirk Kuyt.
